In an effort to ease traffic congestions and to promote a safer, cleaner and environment-friendly technology, Suryaveer International, under the public-private partnership with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has recently installed 30 Smart Traffic Island in different places of Kathmandu valley.

Since none of the existing traffic lights in different major junction of Kathmandu valley are functional, Suryaveer International has taken a bolder and responsible step by introducing the smart traffic island to maintain the traffic light keeping in mind of the pedestrian’s safety. Such islands have been installed inside the Valley including Lainchaur, Kesharmahal, Putalisadak, Maitighar, Kamalpokhari and Baneshwor while more will be installed soon.

The new island is round in shape and elegant in looks New Traffic Island’s base is tall which will help the traffic police to see further and manage the vehicular movement in better way. It has various box and drawers where traffic police can keep their items and primary health kit and mobile charging station.

Department of Road (DoR) is responsible to manage and maintain the street and traffic lights but the sorry state of traffic lights is due to severe negligence of an authority and have put the moving vehicles and pedestrians in full risk for the accidents and road deaths. This as an exciting project which will control the traffic, center piece for advertisement display for the passerby and overall safety of every pedestrian and traffic personnel in the busy road of Kathmandu Valley.
